We would like to invite your K-6th grade students to Nebraska’s Largest Classroom at the Nebraska State Fair. Nebraska’s Largest Classroom is a special educational event which operates as a self-guided tour of the Fair. Last year nearly 4,000 students, teachers, & sponsors participated in the event!
Nebraska’s Largest Classroom will be offered on Tuesday, August 27, Wednesday, August 28, and Thursday, August 29. Admission is FREE for K-6th grade students and teachers within a 5:1 student to teacher ratio. This free admission is only good for gate entry before 1 pm. Check-in will be from 8:30 to 10:30 am.
Please choose which day works best for your school. There will a limited amount of space available each day. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Nebraska State Fair is offering a special lunch program for Nebraska’s Largest Classroom participants. Lunch will be available from 11 am to 1 pm. Each lunch costs $2; last year’s lunch consisted of a hot dog, a bag of chips, a dessert, a fruit, and a bottle of water. The lunch items for 2019 are still being determined. There is a limit of one lunch per person. Enclosed is the lunch registration form. Please note that advance registration for the lunch program is required and payment must be received by June 1, 2019. There will be no exceptions to the deadline and no refunds once payment is received.
If you have special dietary needs, wish to not participate in the lunch program, or have older children and feel the lunch items won’t be adequate enough for their growing stomachs; we invite you to bring your own lunch or eat at one of the food vendors at the fairgrounds. There are select vendors who do offer select food items on the grounds at a discount.
More information will be provided mid-summer, so it is important that you provide us with a contact person and his or her summer contact information. Largest Classroom materials, including gate passes, parking permits, field trip guide, and admission wristbands, will be sent the first week in August via certified mail to your school. A signature will be required at the time of delivery. If you find your classroom has grown over the summer and you need additional wristbands for your students, contact our office prior to Monday, August 10. After this date, gate admission will not be sent out in the mail, but will instead be waiting for you at the check-in area.
