October 4, 2023 (Grand Island, NE) Three outstanding businesses were named winners in their categories in the State Fair’s annual Battle of the Businesses volunteer competition. The competition tallies the number of hours employees serve each year at the Nebraska State Fair. Businesses are divided into small, medium, and large organizations during the competition.
Haley Roush, Volunteer Coordinator of the State Fair, “The Battle of the Businesses is a great opportunity for businesses to serve their local communities, have a little friendly competition, and be an important part of the Nebraska State Fair.”
The 2023 winners will receive an individual trophy recognizing the achievement. In the past, the winner received a traveling trophy for display.
The ’23 winners are:
Large Business: CHI St Francis Health Care
Medium Business: Mars Pet Care
Small Business: Summit Real Estate
CHI St. Francis and Summit Real Estate are new winners in 2023. Mars Pet Care is a repeat winner as the medium business having won in 2022.
Nebraska State Fair Volunteers provided more than 14,000 hours of assistance in putting on the State Fair this year. Information on joining the Nebraska State Fair Volunteer program is available at StateFair.org.
With the new 2024 theme of “All Roads Lead to Fun” the 2024 Nebraska State Fair is August 23-September 2 at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
