As we mark the conclusion of Jeff Kliment’s nine-year tenure on our State Fair Board, we celebrate his fair legacy defined by dedication to ag education and the youth of Nebraska.
From his home base in Valparaiso, Jeff has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders, understanding that the future of our industry depends on the engagement and enthusiasm of young people.
Most people in Saunders County, specifically those involved in their county fair, know Jeff by name and can attest to his commitment and involvement to supporting youth showmanship. During his time on the State Fair Board, we’ve witnesses his calm demeanor and steady leadership come to life through youth participation across all livestock species. His advocacy for expanding show ring opportunities has opened doors for countless young exhibitors to gain experience in animal husbandry.
I’ve been lucky to work very closely with Jeff the last 9 years and feel confident in saying what sets him apart from other leaders is his ability to connect with young exhibitors and their families, offering encouragement and mentorship that extends far beyond the show ring. His approachable demeanor and wealth of agricultural knowledge have made him an invaluable resource for first-time participants and experienced showmen alike. The same dedication he shows to developing youth programs in Saunders County has been reflected in his work to enhance opportunities for young people throughout Nebraska.
The impact of Jeff’s service extends beyond his board tenure through the programs and processes that he helped us establish.
As Jeff concludes his service on the State Fair Board, I want to express my deepest gratitude for his dedication to the fair industry and our mission.
