Festejo Latino

El Centro de las Américas, Lincoln's only community agency dedicated to enhancing the lives of Latino families, brings its annual festival to the State Fair. The festival offers a day of entertainment, music, food, and educational and cultural exhibits

Nebraska's Largest Classroom

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Located throughout the fairgrounds

Nebraska’s Largest Classroom is a self-guided field trip where students and teachers have the opportunity to enjoy hundreds of exhibits, view entertainment at every turn, and learn about Nebraska.  Public and home schools are invited to participate in Nebraska’s Largest Classroom and must pre-register. Admission is FREE for K-6th grad students, teachers, sponsors, and bus drivers. Registration for the 2010 Fair has closed.

The Nebraska State Fair offers a lunch program for Nebraska’s Largest Classroom participants.  Lunch will be available from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Each lunch costs $1 and includes a hot dog, bag of chips, dessert, and beverage. Advance registration for the lunch program is required. Lunch registrations will not be accepted the day of Nebraska’s Largest Classroom. Lunch registration for the 2010 Fair has closed.

Older Nebraskans Festival

Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 9:00 a.m.

Heartland Events Center

The festival offers a day of fun and entertainment with health, wellness, and informational exhibits. Free coffee cake and coffee is offered starting at 9:00a.m. to the first 300 people. National country artist, Mel Tillis, will perform at 11:00a.m. in the Heartland Events Center. The concert is FREE with paid gate admission. Ice cream social starting at 1:00p.m. with free ice cream for the first 300 people. The festival is provided for seniors 60 years and older. Gate admission on this day is only $2.

Bus Tours: For bus tours coming for the festival, please have tour busses enter the grounds on the north entrance from Fonner Park Road. When busses arrive, please have a representative from your party go to the gate booth and purchase gate tickets for the entire bus and distribute gate tickets on the bus. After tickets are distributed on the bus passengers can unload and pass through the gate with their ticket. $2 gate admission on Tuesday, August 31st is not available for advance purchase.

Veterans Day Celebration

Friday, September 3, 2010, 9:00 a.m.

Hearland Events Center

Free Fair Gate Admission for all personnel with Military ID!

Honoring ALL VETERANS and MILITARY SERVICE MEN and WOMEN
who are serving and have served, including a special recognition to our Korean War Veterans!


Veterans Day activities include Posting and Parade of Colors and entertainment by Bobby Layne & his Orchestra and Trudy Dumay!
